Terms and acceptable use

Purpose

OS-ERIN is an experimental scholarly-review demonstrator. It supports citation-grounded reading, source inspection, reviewer-selected passages, claim-level assessment, provenance and recovery of review work. It is not a production archive, automated peer reviewer, misconduct detector, ranking service or basis for consequential decisions.

Authorized uploads

When access is enabled, users may supply a manuscript or cited work only when they have permission to process it in the pilot. Users must not upload material whose confidentiality, copyright, licence, contractual terms or personal-data restrictions prohibit that processing.

Reviewer responsibility

Parser, retrieval, model and provider outputs are candidate material, not accepted scholarly truth. Reviewers remain responsible for inspecting sources, recording their own judgments and describing uncertainty honestly. Failure to find evidence means only “not found,” never “does not exist.”

Prohibited use

• Do not attempt to access another project or user’s private material.
• Do not bypass authentication, probe internal services, overload the service or submit malicious content.
• Do not use the pilot for high-stakes, employment, funding, disciplinary or formal research-assessment decisions.
• Do not represent experimental outputs as institutional conclusions.

Availability and access

The pilot may be changed, paused, reset or withdrawn for research, operational, legal or security reasons. Access may be restricted or terminated when use is unauthorized, unsafe, disruptive or outside the agreed pilot.
